Cookie Policy
Effective Date: May 12, 2025
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer or mobile device by websites that you visit. They are widely used to make websites work, or work more efficiently, as well as to provide information to the owners of the site. Cookies help us improve your experience when using Habits Warrior (the "Service").
2. Are We Currently Using First-Party Cookies Directly?
As of the Effective Date of this policy, Habits Warrior does not directly set its own first-party cookies on your device for the core functionality of the web application/PWA beyond what might be strictly necessary for session management if essential for the PWA's operation through your browser. Our PWA primarily relies on other mechanisms like service workers for offline capabilities and caching where applicable.
3. Potential Future Use of First-Party Cookies
We may use first-party cookies in the future to enhance your experience. If we do, these cookies may fall into the following categories:
- Strictly Necessary Cookies: These cookies would be essential for you to browse the Service and use its features, such as accessing secure areas of the site.
- Functionality Cookies: These cookies would allow the Service to remember choices you make (such as your username, language, or the region you are in) and provide enhanced, more personal features.
- Performance Cookies: These cookies would collect information about how you use our Service, for instance, which pages you go to most often. This data would be used to help optimize our Service and make it easier for you to navigate
We will update this policy and provide appropriate consent mechanisms if we introduce first-party cookies that require such consent.
4. Third-Party Cookies
While we do not currently set many first-party cookies, some third-party services we use do set cookies. These are not controlled by Habits Warrior.
- Google Analytics: We use Google Analytics to help us understand how our Service is being used. Google Analytics sets cookies to collect anonymous traffic data. These cookies can track things such as how long you spend on the site and the pages that you visit. This helps us to improve our Service.
- For more information on Google Analytics cookies, see the official Google Analytics website and their privacy policy.
- You can opt-out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
- Lemon Squeezy: When you make a purchase or manage your subscription, you will be directed to our payment processor, Lemon Squeezy. Lemon Squeezy may use cookies on their platform to facilitate the payment process, for security, and for their own analytics. We do not control these cookies.
- Please refer to Lemon Squeezy's own Cookie Policy and Privacy Policy for details on their cookie usage.
- Other Third Parties (Supabase, Vercel, Resend):
- Supabase: May use cookies if you interact directly with certain Supabase-provided UI elements or for its operational needs, though generally, for backend services, its cookie impact on end-users is minimal unless specific frontend libraries from Supabase are used that rely on them.
- Vercel: As our hosting provider, Vercel may use cookies for its operational purposes, analytics, or security features related to the delivery of the Service.
- Resend: Typically, email service providers like Resend do not place cookies on users' devices through the emails themselves in a way that tracks website Browse, but they may use tracking pixels or similar technologies in emails to measure engagement (e.g., open rates, link clicks). This is not a browser cookie.
5. Managing Cookies
You can control and/or delete cookies as you wish. Most web browsers allow some control of most cookies through the browser settings. To find out more about cookies, including how to see what cookies have been set and how to manage and delete them, visit www.aboutcookies.org or www.allaboutcookies.org.
Please note that if you disable cookies, some features of our Service (especially those provided by or reliant on third parties) may not function properly.
If we introduce first-party cookies that require explicit consent in the future, we will implement a cookie consent banner or tool to allow you to manage your preferences.
6. Changes to This Cookie Policy
We may update our Cookie Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Cookie Policy on this page and updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this Cookie Policy.
You are advised to review this Cookie Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Cookie Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
